Lumeloch Town Festival
Every year in Lumeloch town, there is a grand festival of sorts. The festival brings people from all over Bohren and other neighboring regions to kick off the opening of the Bohren Pokemon League Season. The town hosts various events such as a Pokemon Contest, carnival games and rides, and on the final day, the first Pokemon Tournament: A single battle, one pokemon only free-for-all. Extremely basic, with high stakes: The first Bohren Tournament Ribbon and a very mysterious and valuable prize!
The gates have finally opened and the Lumeloch festival has begun!

There was a flash of light and purple smoke, Viktor liked seals, and Drifblim spun into the air, "Bliiiiiim~" it stopped which cause the smoke to vanish. Slowly, Drifblim floated down to the field.

"Lucky, go get 'em!" she shouted, tossing Lucky's pokeball into the air. The Lanturn came out mid-throw in a backflip, landing in the water with a neat splash. He popped back up, his anntena bobbing in the water, and gave a glance back at Skyler.
"Sorry about the battles so close together, buddy - you know how tournament season is."
"Lantuuurn," he said, flipping his fin in a little shrug.

The audience was silent. Viktor ate it up.
He lifted up his arm pointing toward Skyler's end of the field, "WILL-O-WISP!"
"Driiiif!" Blue fire surrounded Drifblim, spinning quickly, "Blim!" the stopped spinning around him and started to spin around Lanturn, closing in until they finally connected, burning it badly.

Skyler grinned. Lucky hated to get hit. "Come on Lucky, use Rain Dance and then we can really kick this thing off."
Lucky swam steadily around in circles, faster and faster until the clouds began to gather overhead. The onlookers, having learned from her last battle, stolidly pulled out their ponchos and umbrellas.

"Bliiiiiiiiiim" it slowly sucked in the air around, inflating itself and glowing just a bit.
no subject
"Use Thunder!" she said, and Lanturn's anntena began crackling with power, a bolt of lightning zigzagging through the air to Drifblim. She would start this battle off with some fireworks.
no subject
"Drifblim, Stockpile." this was the boring part. But soon things would be beyond exciting. Viktor could barley wait, this was the first time trying out his new battling strategy.
"Bliiiiiiiiim!" Again, Drifblim pulled in more air, expanding more and its light glow intensifying two fold.
no subject
Skyler wasn't really sure what he was doing. That Thunder had taken a good chunk of Drifblim's HP away, so...
"Lanturn, use Thunder again!"
Lanturn looked at her, and Skyler hesitated for a moment. Her pokemon trusted her, but Lanturn seemed to think she wasn't doing something right. Still, it turned back around and fired off another Thunder despite it.

"Dri...?" It opened on eye looking back.
"One more?" The Drifblim nodded, "Excellent, Stockpile one last time!" he said this a bit more dramatically. The audience seemed to be just as puzzled as Skyler was, they were silent, whispers shaking about.
"Bliiiiiiiiiiim~" Expanding to his maximum, its glow so bright now that it was lighting up almost the entire field in the heavy rain.
no subject
"Thunder!" Skyler shouted, and the Thunder came down from the clouds in a huge, sizzling bolt.

The Dusknoir appeared directly behind the light, "Noirrrr" The pokemon grabbed the light and opened the large mouth on his stomach, absorbing the light which suddenly wrapped around the pokemon, which was now glowing the pale blue. The light slowly faded, but it was obvious that the Dusknoir had absorbed all of Drifblim's raised defense stats.
no subject
"Well alright," Skyler said. She'd learned to listen to her pokemon when they gave her obvious signals like that, and she held out Lucky's pokeball to return him, her hand falling to another on her belt.
After a brief moment of hesitation... "Go, Bluegull!"
Altaria whistled happily as she was released from her pokeball, soaring up into the stormclouds and gathering bits of them on her wings. She spiraled back down and eyed the Dusknoir disdainfully.
no subject
"Dusknoir! Focus! Focuuuus!" He had to remind the Dusknoir to not let the extra bulk get to his head.
no subject
"Good girl, now how 'bout showing off a little?"
The Altaria preened, fluffing her feathers out. Blue energy began crackling along her wings as she lifted them and took off, spinning through the air in a gorgeous twisting flight pattern.
Skyler grinned as the audience ooh'ed. This was why she loved this pokemon.
no subject
Dusknoir focused and energy shot from hits hands toward the Altaria. Now it would stay within range of Dusknoir's power.
no subject
She fluffed up her feathers, the long crest on her head rising, and hissed at Dusknoir like an angry goose.
"Man, he messed you up," Skyler said with a chuckle, and Bluegull glared back at her. "Come on, don't act like that. Dragon Claw." Flapping her wings - not that it did much good, she propelled herself across the surface of the water to his side of the arena, striking out with one blue-covered claw.
no subject
"Dusk-!" it raised one hand into the air and the dove it into the ground, "Noooir!" sending a powerful earthquake directly toward the Altaria, the rain above them vanishing.
no subject
"Chill, Blue," Skyler said. "How about a little more dancing? I'm sure you can show off just as well even when you aren't flying."
Bluegull flipped her cloudy wings and energy began crackling around her once again. When she began moving, she moved like a bird bathing, flipping water and blue clouds everywhere.
no subject
Dusknoir's hand was engulfed in flames, "Noir!" it dove directly at Altaria. Viktor just hoped this would do more damage than the earthquake, but he had a bad feeling
no subject
The Altaria briefly stopped in her dance, looked back over her shoulder in an unmistakably dismissing stare, and resumed what she was doing with a fluting whistle.
"There you go, Miss Blue," Skyler said, leaning on the rail of the platform. "Make the people love ya."
no subject
The audience gasped as the Dusknoir created a large nail out of energy and jamed it into its stomach, "Noooir..." it moaned, while a purple mist creeped from the ground around him and crawled around the Altaria.
no subject
"Alright, alright, but before you get him how about you Roost first?"
Bluegull hunkered down on the water, tucking her beak into her fluffed-up chest feathers, wiggling like she was about to settle down for the night. The mist still hung off her like an ill-fitting cape, and she still glared murder at the Dusknoir.
no subject
"Noir!" It dove its hand again into the ground, sending another earthquake directly toward the Altaria.
no subject
"Alright, Blue. Get him!" Skyler leaned over the railing eagerly - that was three Dragon Dances under the Altaria's belt, and she was sure this Dragon Claw would do a lot more damage than the last one.
Altaria whistled her assent, spinning to catch the Dusknoir with her claws. Curse had done a great deal of damage and she was going to compound it until he gave in.
no subject
"Nooooir" He dug is hand in once more, sending another massive earthquake in the Altaria's direction.
