Lumeloch Town Festival
Every year in Lumeloch town, there is a grand festival of sorts. The festival brings people from all over Bohren and other neighboring regions to kick off the opening of the Bohren Pokemon League Season. The town hosts various events such as a Pokemon Contest, carnival games and rides, and on the final day, the first Pokemon Tournament: A single battle, one pokemon only free-for-all. Extremely basic, with high stakes: The first Bohren Tournament Ribbon and a very mysterious and valuable prize!
The gates have finally opened and the Lumeloch festival has begun!

The carnival was...boring. Someone from a small town might find it exciting, but for him, it was dull and "quiant" which was never a good adjective in his book. He found himself a seat on a bench close enough to not seem suspicious but far enough away to keep his eye on everyone at the event.

She also seemed to have an almost constant stream of babble going. "Man what a boring town, the lake isn't even big enough to have waves, makes you wish you had a boat or a jetski or something you know? The carnival is fun but man I wish we'd get on circuit already, it's stupid that all the gym leaders have to travel with the tournament circuit, I want to be back in Crescent Beach already - oops, sorry!"
She said the last to Armonde as, while she was paying more attention to griping than walking, she ran right into him.

"Zu zu zu zumarill!" he said, scolding, and Skyler lowered the cotton candy within his reach without even looking.
"You've heard about me? I'm kinda new to the league, you're not local to Tournament Mount or something are you?"
no subject
"I don't mean to be intrusive," except he totally was, "But I'm feeling a bit tired, how about a battle to heat things up around here?" he knew the tournament was happening later that day, but he wanted a fresh start. If he could manage to take down a member of the League, perhaps the other Rocket Operatives could easily win the prize at the main tournament.

Skyler looked down at Azumarill and grinned. "Looks like you've got at least one taker," she said. "Maybe a battle will liven things up a little around here. What do you say we put a badge on the line for it?"
She reached into her pocket and pulled out a Tsunami Badge, the tiny wavecrest curled around a small gem. As she did so, she pulled a pokeball off her belt and recalled Azumarill. He never started battles for her, after all. "And let's get to the lake. Water trainer, you know. Gotta have water."
no subject
They seemed to have attracted a bit of a crowd. Whispers were crawling across the festival and people began to gather at the lake. Armonde took his place at the battle field next to the lake, "Ladies first!" he shouted.
no subject
"Go get 'em, Lucky!" she said, tossing the pokeball into the water.
"Lanturn~" Lucky said as he popped out of the pokeball, yawning.
"Okay Lanturn, this is a battle for a badge, so you have to do your best, understand?" The whispers in the crowd multiplied - who was this trainer challenging Skyler, and for a badge too?
no subject
"Milo-!" His Milotic shined in the sun, its obvious coloration cause the audience to ooh and ahh.
"Milotic!" He called to the water, it turned and perked up, "This is an important battle. Don't mess it up." The Milotic flipped again in the air. "I believe the rules stat that trainer goes first, so if you don't mind." He took this advantage.
"Milotic! Safeguard!" A mystical haze poured around Milotic. Armonde smiled, this should be easy.
no subject
But Milotic were doubly rare - oh well.
"Lanturn, you know what to do! Rain Dance!"
"Tuuuuuuuurn," Lanturn said, swimming in a fierce circle. The circle grew tighter, and dark clouds rolled in overhead. Many of the onlookers shrieked and ran for cover as rain began to pour over the battlefield. Skyler just grinned. Here was where the real battle started.

Milotic was dancing in the water as the rain started to fall, "'Tic!"
"Milotic! Surf!" Milotic stopped and nodded.
"Milooo!" The water surged in around him and a giant wave formed, rushing toward Lanturn.
no subject
"Great, Lucky! Use Thunder!" Skyler's grin got bigger. Thunder may not be a great move to use a lot of the time, but in the rain?
"Lanturn!" Lucky's crest glowed and crackled with energy, and a bolt of lightning lanced from the clouds, straight toward Milotic.
no subject
He didn't want to end up in a repetitive cycle, but he had no other choice, he couldn't take down the Lanturn with another Surf, "Milotic! Recover!"
Milotic spun around and began to glow, slowly recovering its health. Armonde braced for the worst.
no subject
"Lanturn! Give it another Thunder!"
Lanturn gave a small leap out of the water, shaking its fins as another thunderbolt came rocketing out of the sky.
no subject
"Milotic! Recover, again!" Milotic nodded and began to glow, once again healing its wounds. Doing a flip in the air once it finished.
no subject
Lucky was now thoroughly immersed in showing off for the crowd. He dove below the water and powered toward the surface, rocketing up to the surface and leaping out of the water to toss yet another Thunder Milotic's way.
no subject
"Milotic, Surf!" Water surged around Milotic again as it obediently & with all its might threw another massive wave toward Lanturn.
no subject
"One more should do it, Lanturn, Thunder!"
At this point Skyler almost felt guilty for the beating she was probably going to give this guy - but it didn't matter. He wore six pokeballs on his belt, that meant she would fight him with her full team of six.
no subject
"Hm." There was a large platform in the water on his side, he nodded, "Go."
A deep groan and his large Steelix appeared on the platform, "Lets see how you do with my baby Girl." The Steelix roared loudly.
"Steelix! Stealth Rock!!!" The Steelix shot sharp rocks directly around the Lanturn, which hoovered slowly around him.
Armonde smirked.
no subject
"Lucky, you did great!" she said, holding out a pokeball. Her hand dropped to another on her belt and she threw it into the water. "Go, Lily!"
Ludicolo's head popped up above the water, the ridiculous lilypad bobbing in the water. "Hit it with a Surf, Lily!"
no subject
Armonde's jaw dropped. He did not expect that. Steelix was down. Armonde was now down two pokemon, and Skyler still had all 6. He pointed out his pokeball, not even acknowledging Steelix's work.
He reached down for a moment and thought again, "Go."
"Chaaaar~" Arbok landed on the platform, posed for battle.
no subject
Armonde was getting frustrated - she could tell. But she wasn't about to go easy on him just because he didn't really have the skill to battle her. She might be easygoing any other time, but in a battle? No way.
"Cololo!" Lily said, gathering energy around one hand. Skyler only hoped the Arbok wouldn't break her focus.
no subject
"CHAR!" It dove into the air and wrapped around Ludicolo, biting down, hard, freezing the side of its head. Arbok quickly unwound itself and swam back quickly to its platform.
no subject
Plus the rain had stopped - time for her to come back. "You did good, Lily, you'll have another chance," Skyler said, holding out her pokeball and recalling the Ludicolo.
"Go, Typhoon!" she said, throwing another. Her Floatzel popped up, eyeing the Arbok with a glare.
