sky_shark: (Bored)

Laziness is bad for you

Who: Akito/Agito, their Pokemon, and you!
What: Akgi are bored >: They are taking a time out.
When: Afternoon sometime
Where: Somewhere in Sheercliff with sunlight

It was not often this happened, but as it was, Akito and Agito were both bored. The classes were fine and all, but even after a few days, it felt like they'd been in Sheercliff for forever.

The teen was flat out on his back in the sun, out of the general way but noticeable. The eyepatch for once was not on his face, but instead resting on his stomach, both eyes closed at the moment. He seemed asleep, but it wasn't hard to wake one of them up.

Their Pokemon were around, every one of them out of their pokeballs. Ember was curled up, dozing in her own patch of sun while Gia snuggled into the Vulpix's tail, the Gible fast asleep. Carvanha swam idly in a nearby pond, while Tangela curled up against her trainer. Levi had its hands on a rock, floating and looking out over the area with curiosity. The Metang wanted to test its newly evolved form out, but didn't want to bother Agito for it.

It sighed a little. Why were they here again...?

Luna was quite nearly Pokemon free, at the moment. She'd set them all loose from their Pokeballs just after lunch and sent them off with a vague command to explore as they liked and be back before it was dark. Or at least be back before morning.

So at the moment it was just her and Babbity, who'd refused to leave her alone, climbing on the rocks and enjoying themselves enormously. She was barefoot (the amount of Neargle shoe thefts had dropped significantly when she'd began her journey, but Luna still rather enjoyed the feeling of sunlight on her bare toes) and thus balanced on the rocks as securely as a Mankey, though it didn't stop her watchful Lopunny from keeping close, just in case. Humans were so fragile.

Glancing down from her perch, Luna tilted her head at the sight of a slumbering trainer and his scattered Pokemon. "Oh, hello," she whispered to the Pokemon, awake, who may have spotted her. She hopped lightly to the next rock in the line and continued rock by rock in that manner with each word. "You. All. Look. Quite. Comfortable." Running out of words, she stopped on a rock just big enough for one foot and stood there balanced with her arms outstretched while she pondered in which direction to go next.

[personal profile] levitation 2010-10-20 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Levi noticed the girl nearby, letting go of the rock it had been holding to and floating to the newcomer curiously. It didn't recognise the girl, humming thoughtfully. Akito seemed to like meeting new people, so this wouldn't be that bad. Carvanha was watching the girl with distrust though. Levi frowned at him, the shark Pokemon hissing and swimming faster, agitated.

The Metang ignored him and circled the girl, wondering who she was. Akito had stirred at the sound, rolling onto his side. Tangela whined at the movement. Maybe they would wake up soon...

Luna followed the Metang as it circled with her gaze, as much as she could without turning. Lowering her arms she smiled and held out a hand for inspection and proof she meant no harm, as she had been taught. "Hello," she whispered again.

Babbity had stayed near the top of the stacked rocks, enjoying the view the high perch granted him, and trusted his reflexes should Luna slip up at any point. He was just considering doing some sunbathing when he noticed the Pokemon activity, particularly the Metang (though he didn't appear dangerous) and the hissing Carvanha, the latter of which he narrowed his eyes at.

"Careful!" he said warningly at the shark Pokemon, sounding like a sharp, "Lop!" to human ears.
levitation: (Looking)

[personal profile] levitation 2010-10-21 11:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Metang," Levi hummed in reply, a hello in Pokemon speech. It touched the girl's hand with a claw, since it didn't have hands as such. Its eyes turned from their normal shape to happy points, pleased to have met a new person.

Carvanha hissed at the Lopunny at the warning. "You aren't my trainer," he growled, circling faster and glowing slightly, tempted to unleash a Rage on the other Pokemon. Agito wouldn't be pleased about it though, which held him back for now.
justassane: (Yep.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-21 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Luna's smile widened. "You're lovely, aren't you," she whispered, gripping the claw gently in a strange sort of handshake. Balancing on one leg with her other hand outstretched slightly still, it looked a bit like they were dancing together. "My name is Luna," she added.

Babbity bared his teeth, moving cautiously into a position better suited to moving quickly if necessary. "She's my trainer," he replied. "Watch it."
justassane: (Smile.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Hm? Oh," said Luna, glancing over. "You're awake. I'm sorry. You looked like you were having a nice nap. I'm Luna, Luna Lovegood," she added belatedly, then smiled and turned back to her newest acquaintance. "I was talking with your Metang. He's very sweet."

Upon noticing the trainer waking up, Babbity calmed somewhat, stifling a smug grin at the scolding. He watched the Carvanha scamper away with no small amount of glee, but was far too stoic to actually show this.
justassane: (Cool...)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Levi," repeated Luna carefully. "Pleased to meet you, Levi," she said with an odd attempt at a mixture of a curtsy and a bow, made even odder by the fact that she was still balancing on one foot on the rock, a foot or so above the ground. "You know my name, and that," she gestured behind her at her Lopunny, apparently speaking to both Levi and his trainer. "Is Babbity. I don't think he likes your Carvanha very much, I'm afraid."
sky_sharkling: (Switch peek)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Carvanha's grouchy," muttered the teen, only this time it wasn't Agito who had spoken. Akito was rapidly waking up, watching the girl curiously. "I'm Akito. You were talking to Agito before."

Levi watched the bow-cross-curtsy curiously, wondering how Luna managed to keep her balance like that.
justassane: (Default)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Was I?" asked Luna, sounding more interested than confused. "Well--it was nice meeting him, I suppose, and it's nice to meet you, Akito. I'm Luna," she added, in case he hadn't been listening before.
sky_sharkling: (Cute and unsure)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
"It's nice to meet you too," he replied, reaching for his eyepatch and putting it back on, right eye closing and settling the patch over it. "And yup, you were. He and I share this body."

Carvanha peered out of the water then and hissed at Akito. The light ignored him and got carefully to his feet without waking up Tangela. Levi floated over to its trainer as Akito walked over to Luna. "Why are you up there on that rock?" Akito asked curiously.
justassane: (I know right?)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah," said Luna, then asked curiously, "Can he hear us now, or do you have to take turns with the ears?"

She glanced down at her feet, as though surprised to see she was, in fact, still standing on a rock, then tilted her head. "Not for any particular reason," she said, and jumped down in front of Akito, landing nimbly on her bare feet. "I was climbing," she explained. "It's what you do in Sheercliff, from what I understand."

Babbity watched all this with some confusion. Normally he was concerned with how other trainers would react to Luna's strange behavior, but this other trainer had so far managed to surpass most of Luna's oddities in about two minutes.
sky_sharkling: (Adorable wut)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"He can hear us, if he chooses to," he replied, watching Luna. "If he doesn't want to, he won't. I can stop him too, if I wanted to, but I don't."

He moved back a little when she jumped down, Levi following her down. "Oh. Yeah, I guess so. There is a lot to climb here." He looked around a little. "I think I climbed enough on the way here though," he added with a bit of a laugh. Following Ember as she ran from being caught was difficult.
justassane: (Smile.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
"That's useful," commented Luna. "If you needed to plan a surprise birthday party, for example."

"I climbed the stairs myself, actually," she said, looking back up at the rock pile, where Babbity still sat, watchful as always. "I thought perhaps the thing to do while I was here, though, was do some rock climbing. While we're waiting for the gym leader, you know. Are you both trainers as well? Here for the tournament?"
sky_sharkling: (Explaining)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Yup!" Akito agreed with this, nodding happily. He had surprised Agito before by doing that, though he didn't do it often.

The light followed her faze to the Lopunny. "Oh wow. I haven't seen a Lopunny since I left home," he commented idly. Still watching Babbity, he replied to the question. "We're trainers, yeah. Agito's going to go in the tournament. Me, I don't like battling."
justassane: (Cool...)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Babbity tilted his head curiously when he found himself suddenly being stared back at. That didn't usually happen. Luna left him to his own devices for the most part, and other trainers glossed over him as just another Pokemon following his trainer around. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously. This Akito/Agito fellow was...someone of notice, possibly.

"Oh, we generally find it very enjoyable," said Luna, speaking of both herself and her Pokemon. "Though, mostly I travel for the interesting sights. I think I might like to be a researcher someday like my father, but I'm not sure. And battling and tournaments are quite fun in the meantime."
sky_sharkling: (Explaining)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Levi noticed Babbity's look and floated up to near the Lopunny. "Akito means no harm," it hummed, wary just slightly. Akito wasn't a fighter, and Levi knew he relied on his Pokemon for his safety.

The light's gaze went back to Luna, listening. "A researcher...that sounds like a good thing to do." He smiled at that. "I'd like to enter contests, one day. Battling...doesn't hold much appeal to me. Gia, my Gible...she got really badly hurt one day. I don't want any of my Pokemon to get hurt again."
justassane: (Smile.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure," Babbity murmured. They rarely meant harm, he thought to himself. Generally the worst were the thoughtless comments, or the snickers behind their backs. And to be fair, Luna never noticed, or at least never let on that she noticed, but still...Babbity had gotten fed up fairly early on, and he wasn't about to be lulled into a sense of false security just because this boy was also quite strange.

"It can be painful," allowed Luna. "It's really only if you enjoy it that it's worth it, I think. You can bear a lot of pain if it's worth it in the end," she said, thinking of her parents.
sky_sharkling: (Thoughtful)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
Levi hummed thoughtfully, leaving the Lopunny alone.

"I suppose so..." Akito murmured, nodding a little as he watched Gia. "I've never really been able to do anything like that before though. I only just managed to catch a Pokemon by myself recently."
justassane: (Hm?)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
Babbity watched the talking duo (trio?) for a moment longer, then blinked, realizing suddenly that the Metang had drifted away. He'd barely even registered that they were speaking. "Hey," he said. "Wait-wait a sec."

Luna followed his gaze to the Gible she'd noted earlier. "Is that her?" she asked politely, tilting her head. "She looks happy."
sky_sharkling: (Happy smile)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
Levi paused, glancing back at the Lopunny. "Mm?"

The light nodded, walking over to her and gently picking the little land shark up. Gia barely stirred, only moving to bury her head in Akito's chest as he brought her back over to Luna. "I hope she is...Gia was the very first Pokemon I ever had. My older brother gave her to me when I was very little." He smiled at the memory. "We grew up together."
justassane: (Cool...)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Babbity leapt lightly towards the Metang, the rocks holding no difficulty for him. "Your trainer, he's...different, yeah?" he asked, trying to be tactful.

Luna grinned and leaned forward so that she was eye to eye with the little Gible. "It's very nice to meet you too, Gia," she said solemnly. "I'm Luna." Straightening, she added, "That's how it was with me and Loony. My Mr. Mime. He was a gift from my parents when I was young, so I'd have someone with me when they had to work. And of course, since I started traveling, I've made other friends." These friends, of course, being almost purely her Pokemon.
sky_sharkling: (Thoughtful)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Levi chuckled a little at that. "That is one way to say it. Akito and Agito are. Unique." Even as a Beldum, it'd never expected to end up with a trainer that had two sides to him.

Gia yawned a little and chattered at Luna sleepily. Akito giggled at her. He listened curiously. "It's nice to have someone around," the light commented, patting Gia. "My brother was always working too." Having friends was also good. "What other Pokemon do you have?" he asked curiously.
justassane: (Hm?)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Babbity shrugged. "You could say that about Luna, too," he said cautiously. "But she doesn't generally talk about being two people."

"With me? I only brought four to Bohren, you see. Babbity and Loony, of course, PZ, my Porygon-Z and Missingno--only a nickname, I haven't caught sight of a real Missingno quite yet. She's a Spiritomb." Luna patted her skirt pocket, where Miss was in fact sleeping peacefully in her rock, safely out of sight of the cruel light of day. Luna glanced over the few Pokemon out in the clearing. "And which ones are yours," she asked curiously.
sky_sharkling: (Explaining)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
The Metang watched Luna curiously, before looking back to Babbity. "It sounds strange, I know. But there truly is two people inside that human. Akito is light, friendly and cheerful. Agito is dark, stronger and without care for anyone except Akito and their Pokemon." Levi knew this by now, from both its experiences and talking with Gia, who knew both sides of the teen better than anyone.

Akito giggled at the Spiritomb's nickname, nodding curiously. "You have lots of Psychic and Normal types," he commented. Looking over the Pokemon around, he hummed thoughtfully. "Technically, they all belong to both of us, but...Carvanha won't obey me, and Tangela prefers Agito. Levi will obey us both. Gia hates Agito, so she won't obey him." The Gible snorted slightly, making the light smile at her. "And Ember, my Vulpix, she won't obey Agito either. Ember's timid. She's afraid of everyone except me, Levi and Gia, I think."

justassane: (Smile.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Huh," said Babbity absently. Different, certainly, but not too terribly confusing, he supposed. Best to keep an eye on the Agito fellow, if Luna was to ever meet him again--though how he was supposed to tell the difference was beyond him. "That's...interesting."

"Hm," said Luna thoughtfully. "I suppose I do." She followed his listing with interest. "That sounds complicated, but I guess you have it all straightened out." She smiled down at Gia whenever she made noise, rather charmed by the rare and apparently affectionate Pokemon. "I suppose you're only allowed six between the two of you, even? Seems a bit unfair."
sky_sharkling: (Happy smile)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Levi laughed a little, humming happily. "They are an unusual pair."

The light giggled. "It is hard to remember sometimes. But Agito doesn't nickname the Pokemon who obey him, so it's a little easier to remember those at least."

Gia noticed the look and chirped happily at Luna. She liked this new girl. Akito nodded at the question. "There's two of us, but only one body so we're only allowed six still. We've never had more than two Pokemon before coming here though, so it hasn't been too much of an issue before. My brother didn't let us catch Pokemon at home. Only Carvanha, because Gia wouldn't obey Agito."
justassane: (You would NOT believe what I heard...)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll say," murmured Babbity. Their Pokemon were happy though, or at least the ones he'd seen, except for the Carvanha, so they were probably decent trainers at least.

Oh, great, he was referring to them in the plural now himself.

Luna's smile widened and she held out a couple fingers to the Gible, in a rough approximation of a handshake, on a much smaller scale. "I suppose if you have the right strategy, the number of Pokemon doesn't matter," she said absently.
sky_sharkling: ([Akito&Agito] Flying high)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Levi laughed again, and took to watching the two down below, keeping an eye on Carvanha.

Gia shook the girls fingers solemnly, then laughed happily. Akito giggled. "Mm! Agito's a very good fighter too. He got this region's first badge easily." The light beamed, proud of his other. "And he did really well in Quakeburg's tournament. That was where we got Tangela." The Pokemon was a common one, but in truth she was ancient, much older than any of Akito's other Pokemon.
justassane: (Cool...)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Luna beamed when Gia shook back, then took the risk and patted her gently on the head. "She is lovely," she commented, before carrying on with the conversation. "You can win Pokemon in the tournaments in Bohren?" she asked with interest, glancing up. "I hadn't heard that. Though I've only just arrived, I suppose. This will be my first badge, and my first tournament, for this Region."
sky_sharkling: (Adorable wut)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Yup," Akito replied to the question, listening to Gia chat away happily about Luna. "The Quakeburg one, we were given fossils that were revived to use. Whoever won got to keep theirs. Some of them snuck away though." The light smiled. "My friend Saori, the Shieldon she got ran from the researchers to be with her."

He hummed thoughtfully. "You have an advantage with the gym, at least," he commented. "Psychic types are good against Fighting. Agito plans to use Levi against the gym." He glanced up at the Metang, noticing it watching.
justassane: (Smile.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Agito won, then? Or did Tangela run off as well?"

Luna tilted her head, following Akito's gaze up to the two watching Pokemon. "That's true, though I may use Babbity too. He prefers Fighting attacks to his Normal attacks, even with the disadvantage. I think he may have become a boxer, if he'd been born human."
sky_sharkling: (*giggle*)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Akito couldn't help giggling as Agito snorted in disgust in his mind. "It probably wouldn't have mattered either way, Agito says. Tangela was determined to stay with him."

Akito glanced at the Lopunny. "I'd heard that Lopunny could use fighting moves, and the elemental punches. One of the Elite Four in Sinnoh has a Loppuny that knows Fire Punch." Akito kind of missed home...
justassane: (Smile.)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-10-23 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
Luna smiled at the giggling, though she couldn't discern what it was about. He was a very happy boy, this Akito. "That's sweet. All of your Pokemon seem quite devoted to the both of you."

"Oh, I went through Sinnoh circuit, though I never challenged the Elite Four," said Luna. "Perhaps I shall go back someday, I think Babbity would enjoy fighting another Lopunny on equal ground."
sky_sharkling: (Explaining)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-10-23 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
Gia chirped at that, Levi humming as well. Akito smiled at them both. "I'm just glad they're happy. That's all I could ask." His Pokemon were his friends. Their happiness was all he needed.

"My brother wouldn't let Agito challenge the circuit, but his work let us meet most of the Leaders and the Elite Four," Akito explained. "Agito did beat a few of them, but since they weren't official matches, we never got the badges for them." Glancing at Carvanha, he added, "I'm almost surprised that Carvanha hasn't evolved yet...he should be near that level."

Carvanha hissed at the glance, circling again to avoid it.
justassane: (You would NOT believe what I heard...)

[personal profile] justassane 2010-11-12 03:27 am (UTC)(link)
"It's good to know what's important," Luna agreed, even more pleased than she let on. Finding out that everybody in the world didn't take this view with their Pokemon, after leaving the relatively sheltered shadow of her father, had been a bit of a blow. While normally it didn't affect her really, overtly, it still made her just a little bit happier now to see a trainer who so clearly loved and cared for his Pokemon. She hoped vaguely that Agito was equally devoted.

"Perhaps he's not planning to evolve at all," Luna offered, following Akito's gaze to the hissing Pokemon. She ignored Babbity's amused snort and muttered "Lop.", guessing rightly that it wasn't complimentary. Babbity could be too easily riled up, sometimes, and she hoped he wasn't going to start something unnecessary just because he'd taken a strange disliking to the Carvanha. "Sometimes that happens. I don't think I would enjoy turning into a completely different shape every few years." She tilted her head thoughtfully. "Well. Perhaps I would. I suppose it would depend on what shape..."
sky_sharkling: ([Akito&Agito] Flying high)

[personal profile] sky_sharkling 2010-12-05 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
He nodded agreement with that. Battling or doing other things with Pokemon was all well and that, but to Akito the most important thing was making sure his friends were happy.

The light pondered on that. "Sharpedo is different to Carvanha," he hummed thoughtfully. "He might not want to. I'll have to see if Agito can find out." He smiled a little at the mention of changing shape. "If I could turn into something with wings, that would be fun~ I've always wanted to know what it's like to fly."

Maybe when Levi evolved again, he could get it to carry him around. Akito grinned at the thought.
