Who: Kurt and whoever else happens by
What: Scouting out the battlefield
When: Afternoon, second day after the main rush of trainers in from Quakesburg
Where: Right outside the Sheercliff Dojo/Gym
Kurt had been in Sheercliff for a day and a half and still no sign of the gym leader, far as he knew. And with all the rumors flying around about how difficult it was to get a badge (he'd heard everything from the presumably trustworthy info from another gym leader, that you have to take some Dojo classes first, to the idea that you have to bare-knuckle fight the gym leader himself, who by the way, is ten feet tall and built like a Makuhita.), he was beginning to have second thoughts about trying for a badge in this particular town at all. Except that you needed the badge to join the tournament. He didn't come all this way just to be frightened into not even trying.
He thought perhaps getting a look at the Dojo itself, while the gym leader was still away, might give him some peace of mind, or at least a strategy idea or two. No such luck so far, but then, he hadn't forced himself to go inside quite yet.
"Hermes, don't break anything!" Kurt called, and his Smeargle turned away from where he'd been right up against the building, trying to peer through a window.

Pikachu then squealed in reply as well, watching the Smeargle.

Hermes glanced back once he realized there was another Pokemon around, but he noted that it was one with a trainer and labeled it as "Not dangerous, unimportant", resuming his skulking. He couldn't really see inside, everything was dark and closed up, but it made him feel useful.
