WHO: Saori Nakagawa and anyone else[open]
WHAT: Celebrating her first badge win with food! :D
WHERE: Quakesburg Pokemon Center
WHEN: The day Saori got the badge, afternoon

Saori was still suprised by the fact she ~~barely~~ won her first gym battle. Both Hana and Tonbo were knocked out, so she immediately went to the local Pokemon Center to get them healed up. While that was going on, she decided to stick around the center and check her inventory. During the supply check, she retrieved the new berries from the berry pots. Then a thought came up to her mind. What better way to congratulate her Pokemon than some freshly baked Poffins?

She easily located the station in the Pokemon Center where the treats could be made. Getting out her collection of berries, she started to pick out which berries made the best poffin for the three. She started off with Hana's, adding the berries to the mix. Kai was out of his pokeball, as usual, and sat patiently next to Saori as she made the treats.

Soon enough, the center was being filled with the sweet smell of Poffins baking.

Viktor finally arrived at the Pokemon center, his Drifblim exhausted from the Clefairy escape. He checked his bags and realized he has no poffins left. As a large contest competitor, Viktor studied the art of Poffins in Hearthome during his staying with Fantina. There he had learned how to prepare them and how to learn the differences in flavor for each Pokemon. Not only that but he learned to appreciate them and their importance in training.

When he reached the station he saw a girl making her own poffins, he smiled. The stations rarly got use in Bohren, it was he who convinced the Pokemon League to place the stations in every Pokecenter in the Region. Most trainers turned to premade or packaged pokefood or treats, but Viktor knew best that creating food for your pokemon was just as important as training or spending time with them

He approached the station slowly, his Drifblim slowly floating behind in, "Do you mind if I join you?"

Whenever she went into a center, she always made plenty of poffins for the journey. Ever since she was a child, the importance of fresh, handmade food for both humans and pokemon was always stressed by her family. It made sense, since they grew many of the ingredients for poketreats as their business.

Saori turned to see who spoke and smiled. "No, not all. Go right ahead." Kai looked up at Viktor and his Drifblim, keeping a watch out for his trainer.

He smiled and opened up his bag with his various pots and poffin ingredients. He couldn't help but eye the trainer. She seemed to be a real pro at poffin making, he was suprised. He but the berries off of his plants and started to seperate them, "That is a very beautiful Luxray you have there. His coat is just wonderful." the obvious sign of a good poffin maker.

Drifblim was floating around Kai staring right back. He was not as concerned for his trainer, he knew very well that Viktor could take care of himself.

"Thank you. I always feed my Pokemon poffins whenever I can." The batter was slowly getting to the consistency she wanted and when it was done, she poured into the mold. Now she could get Tonbo's share ready since he liked a different flavor than her other two Pokemon.

Kai knew a compliment when he heard one. Just so long he didn't cause Saori any grief, he figured Viktor would be alright. Still, he tilted his head, watching the Drifblim float around.

Vikor was slicing up Aguav Berries, Drifblim slowly sneaking up behind him, "You have to wait, you know if you eat the Berries you will just be disappointed without a poffin." he kept slicing.

"Biiiiim..." it floated away and hovered, again, over Kai.

"I tell you something." dropping the berries in with various poffin ingredients and started to mix, "It's good to see other people taking the time to make these. I was starting to think everyone was just using Pokefud...it's just so...soul-less" a bit of batter landed on his arm as he mixed.

"As convenient as pre-made Pokefood can be for trainers on long journeys," Saori said as she sliced up some Pecha berries and put them in the pot. "Trainers tend to forget that Pokemon relied on food grown in nature before humans began training them. Natural foods have been proven to not only give them a shiny coat, but multiple health benefits that make them stronger and happier."

Kai gave a nod before he looked up at the floating pokemon. He reached a paw up to see if he could bat at it. Silly feline pokemon.

Viktor smiled, "You and I share a very similar philosophy." He then started to chop up a few other berries he had just cut from his berry pots, "I used to not think this way. That Drifblim there is the product of raising on all natural food. Notice how fluffy its cloud puff is. The larger it is, the happier he is." he placed the berries aside and started took his first batch of poffins.

"I once raised my Pokemon on processed food with berries cut up on top. But Fantina showed me how much poffins can improve your pokemon." The Drifblim was fine playing as the toy. It allowed its arms to flop down a little and sway, provoking Kai.

Saori began to carefully stir the batter and looked up at the Drifblim. "I see what you mean. You did a wonderful job raising him."

She noticed Kai starting to play around with the balloon Pokemon and started to giggle. The Luxray wasn't one to be very playful, but when he was in the mood to do so, he would.

"Hmm...just as I would expect from someone like Fantina. My family grows many berries, apricorns and other ingredients for pokemon food and treats. We often send our goods to coordinators like her."

"Oh really?" he was stiring, waiting for the Constancy to start to harden, he had done this for years, it was just like breathing but one could never be too careful, "Fantina ordered goods from all over the world! From her home land and only from the best around, so that is a very large compliment for your familys skill." he started going a little faster, almost overflowing the pot, but none spilled out.

"I do miss contests. Drifblim was one of the most wonderful Pokemon to watch perform. He is the son of her Drifblim and Gengar." he looked back for a moment and the Pokemon was now drifting back and forth, gaining a bit of speed.

"We're just happy to be share our goods with so many people. Honestly my parents were very surprised since we only first started to work in Bohren. Ever since Fantina started ordering from us though, we've been mailing them out to the other regions." Slowly Saori's own poffin mixture was taking shape.

"That's incredible to train under a Gym Leader and to even receive a Pokemon from them. Are you more of a coordinator or a trainer?" She had to ask since Fantina was skilled in both fields.

"I'm sure the contests will be back. And when they do, I'll definitely watch his performance." Kai would try to jump up to bat at the Drifblim. The increasing speed only encouraged him to try and beat the drifting pokemon.

"I am a Trainer, but I have done my dabbeling as a coordinator. Currently I am in charge of the Abeo Town Gym, I am the leader there." He said this as if it wasn't that big of a deal, his poffins taking form, he went faster and faster until it was finally perfect, "Ah. Wonderful, Drifblim!" he slowly took the poffin out and placed it in the very hungry Pokemons hands, it bounced up and down as it slowly chomping down.

"I have been bugging the league for weeks about including Contests in the circuit this year. Hopefully once we are out of these terrible mountains we can have a few good ones." he started mixing up a different set of ingredients for another poffin.

"Y-you're a Gym Leader?!" Saori's jaw dropped. Fortunately, she was done with the batch she was working on when that happened.

Kai stopped with the game so the Drifblim could eat. He knew firsthand how much it sucked when someone tackled him while he was eating. The Luxray sat next to Saori as she started on his share.

"It would great to have them up. My friend Akito has always wanted to participate in one." Surprisingly, she wasn't much of a coordinator herself.

"Yes I am. Viktor, ghost Gym Leader. Pleasure." throwing in a handful of berries into his next mix. He worked years to get to his position, but for now he was off duty and just wanted to relax. Most of the time he held up a large persona on the battlefield, but now he just wanted to relax with his pokemon. But this girl seemed nice, she was of course shocked when she discovered who he was. But who wouldn't be? There were only 8 of them in the entire circuit of however man trainers, "Do you have any cinnamon?" he smiled.

"Saori Nakagawa. It's a pleasure to meet you." So he used ghost types. Considering he trained under Fantina, he would be quite the challenge. And seeing that he wasn't here for a battle, she saw nothing wrong with him sticking around her. She got started on a spicy Poffin for Kai, preparing some Leppa berries to be added.

"I sure do. One second." She pulled out a rolled up black cloth which she unraveled on the counter to reveal vials of different dried herbs and spices. She pulled out one with some ground cinnamon in it and handed it to him. When it came to cookware, Saori carried everything but the kitchen sink. Literally.

"Thank you!" he grabbed the vile and smiled, "Quiet a collection you've got there." He poured in a dash of the cinnamon, "Do you mind if I keep this for the next few? The majority of my pokemon only like sweet poffins." he poured in the cut up Pecha berries and looked around. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small pot that was full of Custap berries, some of the rarest sweet berries you could find, "Would you like some?"

"I don't mind at all. I've finished making my share of sweet poffins." Viktor was a Gym Leader AND carried Custap berries? He really was full of surprises. "These are incredibly rare. Just one will be more than enough. Thank you."

"Take as many as you'd like. My grandmother is a procurer of rare goods. She collects stones, fossils and even has her own berry garden. She likes to mail me little surprises like this one." he smiled and picked up one and peeled it, "The skin on these are completely worthless. But perfect for any dry poffins. Soaks up all the moisture." he took a bite once the skin was gone and made a small squeak, "Delicious."

He started to peel the rest and placed the skins to the side. He already had four bowls lined up. His Pokemon were not picky, per say, but they were spoiled without an inch of a doubt, "'Ze key to happy Pokemon is a happy stomach!'" he said with his best possible french accent, "Fantina's own words."

"Well, if you insist then," she said as she carefully picked one to sample. "Uwaah, you're right. These are really good." She took two more for her to grow. "When I get some more berries from them, I'll be sure to send them to you."

Saori couldn't help but giggle. "Nice impression and she's right about that." She got out some Pinap berries for Kai's poffins since he loved spicy ones and began preparing them.

He started to stir his first poffin slowly and then speeding up, changing speed as the constancy changed, "So tell me Saori, have you done a league challenge before?"

Drifblim finished the last bit of its poffin and lazily floated, almost touching the floor, it made a long full sigh and just fell to the floor, asleep, "Oh..my erm...would...would you mind?" he was trying to make sure the Poffin didn't burn and nudged his head over to a purple pokeball on the counter next to him, "That's his pokeball."

"No, it's my first one. I decided I'd stay in Bohren first before maybe going to a different region. My little brother's already in the Johto's league challenge by now."

She gave a nod since she didn't put the poffin batter on the fire yet. "Alright, sweetie, time to get back into your pokeball." Once she was done recalling the Drifblim, she placed the pokeball back onto the counter and resumed her work. Kai moved in closer to his trainer as he could smell something spicy being made.

"Ah! Thank you so much Saori. The Johto League? Interesting. I only did the Sinnoh and Hoenn leagues myself. And Bohren, of course." he stirred and stirred and stirred, faster and faster. The constancy started to harden and he popped out the poffin as it finished, "Ah, wonderful."

He grabbed Drifblim's ball and returned it to his belt, grabbing another plain pokeball, "Dinner time 'Magius!"

"Maaaagius~" she knew what time it was and Viktor happily handed her the poffin, which she grabbed, nodding happily and ate it slowly and delicately, like the lady she was.

To say Akito was a little hyper could be an understatement at the moment. Agito had won his battle, Gia had actually obeyed him for it, and now they were enrolled in the upcoming tournament. It was enough to send the teen into a fit of pure happiness.

The smell of cooking easily caught his attention, and he followed it to find Saori and Kai. He managed not to completely tackle the poor woman, since he knew cooking took concentration, but she might be surprised at the sudden hug from behind and the incredibly rapid talk.

"Saoooori~~ Did you win, did you win? I wanted to watch, but Agito wouldn't let me out, he wanted to traaaaain, but he managed to win so I guess it's okay. I really wanted to watch though, but I only just got out, since Agito had to heal almost all of our Pokemon. Shawn's a really good leader, he almost won but he didn't! And did you win? I bet you did!"

Gia shook her head at the way too hyper teen, following him more sedately and sitting near Kai. Levi was floating nearby, pleased with itself over being the last Pokemon standing in the battle.

Saori squeaked when she was grabbed from behind but looked down to see it was Akito. She couldn't help but laugh. "Congratulations, Akito. I got my badge too, but just barely."

Kai said his congratulations to the two Pokemon that decided to join him. "I'll make some Poffins for your pokemon to celebrate. Agito can give one to Carvanha if he likes."

"Hooray!" That sent the teen on a short circuit of the room before coming to a halt on the other side of the cooking pot, peering in even though he wasn't really paying attention to it. "I knew you'd win~!"

Gia whined at Kai, attempting to burrow into his fur. She hadn't liked having to obey Agito. She'd gotten knocked out and he was sure that Akito had been upset about it. Levi floated close to the ground, humming happily.

Akito beamed away, watching Saori cook. "Thanks~! Agito might give Carvanha some later. He says I should be out for awhile, since I haven't for a few days. His training takes foreeeeeever."

"For a second, I thought I was going to lose and yet I somehow won." Kai blinked at Gia's action for a bit before patting the Gible on the head. She actually hesitant about using him in the battle since he had a clear type disadvantage. Since both Hana and Tonbo got knocked out though, she didn't have much of a choice.

Saori finished up on the poffin batch she was making before pulling out several different berries. Each of them had a different flavor. "First I need to find out what flavors your pokemon like. Gia, Levi, think you can help me out?"

The Gible looked up at smelling the berries. Both she and Levi dove straight for the bitter ones.

Akito giggled at the two. "Carvanha likes dry food," he added, knowing that from the shark Pokemon's nature. So much like his other, that one was.

"Alright, I'll get started on them quickly. If my name gets called, do you think you can get Hana and Tonbo for me? They're healing up from the Gym Battle."

She got some Aguav and Wiki berries out to prepare. Personally, she didn't like bitter flavor berries because of a childhood prank Akira pulled on her, but she still carried them for the sake of making different poffins. Saori still had one freshly made spicy poffin and gave it Kai. She could always make more for him.

"Yup yup!" Akito replied happily, spinning around slightly and listening now. He was more than happy to do whatever anyone asked of him right now. Hyper boy was hyper.

Levi floated up to watch what Saori was doing curiously. Gia was humming to herself, sitting down and rocking a little. She was patient, and hungry.

Saori didn't mind Levi watching as she carefully stirred the pot, making sure it didn't overflow and/or burn. "You'll enjoy these when they're done, Levi, I promise." She learned how to make poffins and other pokemon food from her mother. Sometimes she received berries from her parents' business via delivery.

She watched Akito from the corner of her eye from time to time. Right now he reminded her of Akira when he called her right after his first gym battle, showing off his badge to her though the pokegear.

The Beldum hummed at the words, hovering and watching.

Akito had heard Saori's name and was scampering off. He was way too hyper for his own good, but he was careful with the Pokeballs on his way back, singing happily to himself. Singing was one of the few things he knew he did well, and he loved singing anyway. Gia instinctively joined in, chirping along with her trainer happily.

Slowly, the batter was taking the shape Saori wanted. Her stirring went faster, releasing more of the wonderful aroma into the air. Kai thumped his tail lightly to the beat of Gia's song.

"Thank you, Akito. They can come out of the Pokeball so they can celebrate."

"Okay~!" he chimed in reply, releasing the two Pokemon and setting the balls aside.

Gia rolled to her feet and bounced to her trainer, chirping at him. Akito laughed and picked her up, spinning around a little in a make-shift dance, causing them both to laugh.

Hana and Tonbo looked around their surroundings before they realized they were in a Pokemon Center. After Saori finished up the bitter poffins, she got down to her pokemons' eye level. "We did it, Tonbo, Hana." She showed them the badge to prove it. "I'm very proud of you guys and...I have poffins for you two." Saori was met with cheers as each of them started to nibble on their respective flavor of poffins.

"Akito, Gia and Levi can have theirs now too."

Gia climbed onto Akito's head at hearing that, chirping happily and almost ordering Akito over there. Her trainer laughed, obeying and bouncing over. Levi was already circling around, humming away with pleasure.

"This is a celebration~" the light chimed, beaming as he set Gia down for the treat. She had certainly deserved it, after all.

Saori set one green poffin in front of Gia and lifted one up for Levi to eat.

"How are the poffins?" Hana and Tonbo cheered in approval, which lead her to smile. She brought out another set of poffins, this time, they were spicy ones for Kai.

Gia chirped her approval of the poffin, eating most of it whole. Levi hummed happily as it had its own, flying around in a circle as it did.

Akito giggled, sitting down next to Gia. "I really need to learn how to make those," he commented. They made Gia happy, so he should learn! Made sense to his mind.
