I KNOW WHAT YOU DID

Who: Armonde and Bri, Open to anyone else
What: Rocket/RTF things, also snark and maybe battling if either one annoys the other enough
Where: Outside the Quakesberg Pokemon Center
When: The evening after Bri and Armonde's gym battles.

Armonde was still gleaming at his new badge. Plenty of whispers from trainers in the Pokemon center. Apparently Shawn had been busy the entire day battling dozens of trainers, which at least half had failed miserably. Those that had won badges were gloating and boasting their first win in the Bohren League. Armonde had pinned his to his Lapel just to get the point across.

Two Nurses were talking toward the center from the Gym, exhausted from constantly healing the Leader's Pokemon over and over, "I am never doing that again." one remarked as the walked into the center.

Armonde waiting patiently around the corner for Wormadam to return, who had spent her entire day camouflaged in the ground Gym, making copies of Pokemon teams and also finding out more about the fossil's being used for the next tournament, "Mad-Madam!"

"Ah good! You are back. Do you have the information?" he knelt down and saw that her large shoulder bag he had given her was now full of papers she had copied, "Fantastic! Great work. Now, you know what to do with these. I'll meet you back here tomorrow, stay low. Try find out more about the fossils." Armonde stood back up.

"Madam." she nodded and he patted her on the head.

Bri wasn't an idiot - she had kept a very careful eye on Armonde during his challenge of the Quakeburg gym, and although she was impressed at how much he had grown as a trainer (completely unwillingly, because he was still Rocket scum), she was more than a little suspicious of his seemingly spotless behavior on the circuit so far.

Naturally, she followed him. Unfortunately, she hadn't been able to take rest of the day after her gym battle off like she had hoped, and was hampered in her spying by the fact that her bright red uniform was ridiculously conspicuous, and had trainers stopping her practically every ten feet.

She'd lost Armonde a few blocks back, but he had looked to be headed to the pokemon center. Logical, since they had both just come from the gym and their pokemon were exhausted. But as she started to go through the door, she stopped.

"...more about the fossils," she heard - and that was Armonde's voice.

She put on speed as she rounded the corner, hoping to catching him with whoever he was talking to - they had to be planning to steal some of the fossils from the rich deposits in this area - but stopped short when she saw only Armonde.

"Fancy running into you here," she said, leaning against the wall. Inwardly, she seethed. So close!

He was surprised? Make that two of them. Armonde had been a pretty miserable battle the last time she saw him - well, she had too, but that was neither here nor there.

"I saw your match, too," she said. He knew she'd been following him, there was no sense beating around about it. You did... well." Reluctantly, she added, "your pokemon seem very fond of you."

She looked like it physically pained her to have to say it.

"Mmhm," Bri said, her tone skeptical. "Listen, I don't like you and you don't like me - why don't we stop pretending to like each other and cut to the chase here? I know you're up to something, I know it involves the fossils, you know I'm on your tail."

All this sneaking around undercover business was all fine and good when the enemy didn't already have your identity, your team lineup, and probably your movements for the past three days. And they had both of that on each other. She was tired of the pretense.

Right, she thought - she didn't believe him for a second, and she was more than annoyed that he was willing to keep up this ruse when she had already decided to drop it. But then, that was Armonde.

"Of course I did," she scoffed. Of course I didn't. "The Rangers have all kinds of research on fossil pokemon in their databases."

"That's a discovery best left for the professors," Bri said. Of course he's curious. If Team Rocket could get ahold of even a handful of Old Amber, they'd be a monumental threat.

Armonde had either gotten better at concealing his true motivations or gotten worse at trying to get information out of her. That had been heavy-handed at best. "I'm sure you're very interested in that kind of research." She made a mental note to alert the people keeping an eye on the databases that they may have a Rocket snooping about.
